The Ambassador E Rodney M Perera highlighted the significance of Christmas and addressed the gathering in all three official Sri Lankan languages. The main part of the programme which was conducted by the members of the catholic community comprised of graceful dances and carols being sung in all three official Sri Lankan languages as well as in French and Flemish. A nativity play was also performed by children which was thereafter followed by Rev. father Roshan Fernando conducting a special blessing for Sri Lanka and all those who were present. To the delight of the children, Santa Clause made a surprise visit and handed out gifts, spreading the Christmas cheer.
