Visas are required for persons proceeding to Sri Lanka
for purposes such as business, lectures, educational assignments,
academic research, an employment, voluntary work in social service
organizations, diplomatic missions and other international
organizations or to join their spouses in Sri Lanka .

Application forms can be downloaded from the Embassy
Web-site or be collected at the Consular Division of the Embassy.
A request can also be made by post, by sending
a self addressed stamped envelop.
|
|
|
The status of the visa cannot be changed after
arrival in Sri Lanka (i.e Tourist visa will not
be converted to Residence/Working visas).

Travel document valid for six months beyond the last date of stay in Sri Lanka with 2 photocopies of the details page |

Two recent colour photographs, size 3.5 x 4.5 cm |

Return air ticket and travel itinerary |
|
|
|
• |
valid re-entry visa for Belgium and Luxembourg where relevant |
|
|
|
• |
Visa fee (must be paid in cash) |

• |
Diplomatic and Official passport holders must be forwarded by a
Note Verbal from the relevant Ministry of Foreign Affairs
|

|
Foreign nationals who wish to visit in Sri Lanka to work for an NGO,
a recommendation from the NGO Secretariat
of Sri Lanka and approval from the Controller of Immigration and
Emigration are required |
